You can teach your kids what to recycle so they learn what goes in the recycle bin and what goes in the trash.
Each recycling plant has its own rules about what it will and will not accept, so make sure you find out those rules first.
With your kids, keep it simple. Show them the five basic recyclable items. Most recycling plants accept paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, glass bottles, and aluminum cans.
As your kids finish the food or drinks in plastic or glass bottles, encourage them to rinse out the bottles. Have place to put these bottles that’s easy for them to reach, such as a bin in the kitchen. Remind them to put paper and cardboard they’re done with in the bin as well.
Soon your kids will be helping their siblings and friends recycle.
