Hi, I’m Jennifer Howell. In 2010, I graduated with a master’s degree in environmental education from the Florida Institute of Technology. I’m originally from Ohio, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from The University of Akron.
My experience working in environmental education includes positions at a national park, a campground, and an environmental center, where I developed environmental lessons that I taught to homeschool groups. I have also conducted research in the field of environmental education and worked as a middle school science teacher at a public charter school.
I believe children grow up healthier and happier when they have opportunities to connect with the natural world around them. Although not all children will inherently gravitate toward the environment, they can all be taught to appreciate and respect it. Exploring what nature has to offer them can enrich their educational experiences and give them a sense of discovery.
